Advice For A Beginner Starting In The Web / Internet Business

I recently received the following question:

Do you have any advice for a beginner starting in the web business?

I have quite a bit I'd like to share on this so I figured I'd write a post on it.

A few ways to make money online

  • Service work non-residual (web design, programming, consulting)
  • Service work residual (hosting, SEO, PPC management)
  • Content sites (adsense, affiliate offers, banners)
  • Community sites (memberships)
  • Ecommerce sites (dropship, warehouse)

People Who Do Their Homework VS Those Who Don't

I seem to come across this a lot in every day conversations: people who do very little, if any, research on topics think that their non-researched opinion holds weight over that of somebody who has done extensive research. While it's true that anybody can have a say in something and share their opinion, at the end of the day in most cases the educated person who has done their homework in a particular field knows more about it than those who have not.

Drupal Performance: How To Make Your Drupal Site Run Like A Champ!

A few days ago I copied a Drupal site up on a GoDaddy server for somebody and noticed something immediately. My freaking sites were running REALLY slow on my server. This shared $10/mo GoDaddy server was outperforming my beefed up dedicated box hosted at a really good company by like 10x. How could this be? I wasn't quite sure, but it made me realize that Drupal sites really could run fast and I needed to find out what I was doing wrong.

Allow Me To Shed Some Light On The Internet

The Internet is one of mankind's most advanced form of business currently available. It is the most scientific and demands the most savvy of businessman. I say this because in order to operate successfully on the Internet you must be more in-line with truth and the universe than pretty much any other business, relatively speaking.

Jobs and Money are 2 completely different things

I get the feeling that people have been taking school a little too seriously lately. Pretty much every American that you meet these days thinks that their job and money are related, when in reality the 2 are quite different.

Scientists Are The New Christians

I have recently observed that science is no longer the science it once was, just as Christianity is no longer the religion it once was. Science used to be objective, experimental and in pursuit of truth. These days it seems like it has its own biased objective just as Christianity does. The people in high up places have done a good job at removing God, ET, spiritual and logical evidence from science.

Evidence, Evidence, Evidence... How About Logic?

I kind of get the feeling that we have become too evidence oriented in this day and age. Don't get me wrong, I entirely support the scientific method and appreciate what it has done for humanity. I am all about testing things and finding evidence as support.

The Problem with Evidence

Question: If you remove all 5 senses from a person, are they still considered conscious?

I was recently reading some stuff about the brain and how it is our consciousness (which I disagree with), how without the brain we are no more. I see things a totally different way where the brain is actually a filter for infinite consciousness.

Anyhow, I was wondering what would happen if somebody could not see, hear, taste, smell or feel anything. Would their brain still work? Would they still be conscious?

Technology Scales The Reality

A lot of people get freaked out about technology and change. For instance, a lot of people are nervous about the push for globalization and a one-world government, myself included. But the thing is, it's not really the optimization or the efficiency of this that is the problem. A one-world government does make sense as there are a number of benefits. The problem comes from the forces and driving force behind it.
