The Future Video Game System - Letter to EGM Editor

Future Gaming System

I’ve been an avid EGM fan for about ten years now. As time progresses, I often find myself asking if gaming consoles will ever be replaced by personal computers. From my perspective I would have to say that, yes, eventually all gaming consoles will ultimately evolve into a PC. With each new system release, we have all seen the new features that keep leaning towards the hardware of that of a personal computer - CD’s, USB and internal hard drives to name a few. Can gaming consoles continue to compete with the hardware power of a PC, or will we one day see the two merge into one?

Reflection

I chose to write to EGM mainly because I wanted to get a complete, honest answer on this question I had. I figured if I as going to ask somebody about a video game related question, who better to ask than EGM? The length of my letter fits into the average EGM article length, which is around 75 – 100 words. I was also able to build common ground with EGM by stating how long I’ve been a fan of the magazine for, which I did on my opening sentence. I then brought forth my main argument and supported it with why I felt that way by using examples. I then concluded with a question followed by my name in italics at the bottom. With the research and time I put into my letter, I hope that it will fit into the group of EGM letters that are chosen to be in the magazine every month.
