There is a common saying along the lines of, "When something clean is confronted with something dirty, that clean thing usually becomes more dirty and the dirty thing more clean." This fits in with a lot of things, but let's consider the case of America.
I am somebody that likes the idea of going out and helping others grow and mature. I like helping others in need and shining light in places where there is much darkness. The role of America has for a while now been somewhat in this position in certain areas. America has often helped other nations develop and become self-sustaining.
Now let me stop here. While this is true... OBVIOUSLY this whole process has been infiltrated and perverted by the Crown/Bankers, among others. While the idea of off-shoring companies internationally and providing jobs and industries to other developing nations (China, India, etc) is in itself admirable, there has obviously been a plot set up wherein these smart bankers knew decades ago that this would eventually bankrupt America. The problem is the people have been too stupid to even see it coming. And this is just one of the many factors at play here.
Some of the more well-read Americans have a problem with Free Trade as it hurts the American standard of living. This is absolutely true. While I think it is great to employ and network with other nations, it does not seem wise to hurt yourself while doing so. It should be a situation where both parties benefit, not one where one benefits at the others expense. And this is what has happened and is happening with Free Trade and the off-shoring of industries.
This scenario may be likened to that of a fisherman, teaching another how to fish. One fisherman who has a fishing pole and the know-how to catch fish confronts another who has neither a fishing pole nor the know-how. Now there are many options on how the first fisherman can help the second. One rendering of some options may look as follows:
- Fisherman 1 catches fish and gives them to Fisherman 2
- Fisherman 1 gives Fisherman 2 his fishing pole and teaches him how to use it to catch fish.
- Fisherman 1 teaches Fisherman 2 how to make his own fishing pole and teaches him how to catch fish.
The case with America falls into #2 with a lot of this. We didn't teach others how to build their own stuff while keeping our own in full operation. We gave it all away. We gave them all the tools we have to build our own stuff and now we are left without a fishing pole. Our fishing pole has been gone so long we vaguely know how to catch a fish (hard work, perseverance, etc) if any at all anymore. Under my estimation this is not the way to go about things. It would have been much smarter to simply teach these others the ways of the trade while maintaining our own equipment and independence the whole way. There could have been a number of smarter ways to do things, but unfortunately we are dealing with a very crafty group who are able to manipulate the
.
So we now have a country that has somewhat uplifted the world but completely bankrupted itself in doing so. We now have a very big problem on our hands and there's not much we can do about but brace ourselves. Hopefully the rest of the world will remember some of our kind acts (not the policing of the world, the hijacking of resources, the predatory capitalism, etc), but I have my reservations.
