Creativity

Creativity Is Doing What You Want

I think there are 2 main parts to being creative.

  1. Doing
  2. What You Want

Doing

If you look at all the creative people throughout history you will notice that a they produced like mad. They were always DOING something because without doing your creativity will never show.

38 Ways To Be Creative

I recently came across a fantastic post about being creative. Creativity is one of the most important things when it comes to pretty much anything in life.

Here are 38 ways to be creative:

  1. Ignore everybody.
  2. The idea doesn't have to be big. It just has to be yours.
  3. Put the hours in.
  4. If your biz plan depends on you suddenly being "discovered" by some big shot, your plan will probably fail.

Nothing is Original

I have heard some people say that nothing is original in this world. All new things are simply a spin off of something else. I think this is a pretty fair and accurate judgment which holds some strange repercussions. Everything is pretty much the result of something that happened before it. People's artistic expressions are the result of their influences and so on.

Creativity Comes Before Everything

Pretty much all things around us are a result of creativity. I can't really think of anything that comes before creativity and I find it extremely valuable to place a large emphasis on creativity.

I find it sad to see our current society living in such a rote, left-brained, materialistic, regurgitation-heavy, small-minded state of existence. How many people do you know that spend more than 10 minutes a day listening to their own creativity?

We are all creative beings

Creativity VS Skills - Which is more valuable?

I am always coming across situations where there are creative and technical abilities involved. I guess a lot of things in life are contrasted by these two things. Based off my observations it seems as though creativity is always much more important than technical ability. You can't really teach creativity, but you can teach skills.
