Should Technology Replace People and Jobs?

Perhaps this is somewhat a more sophisticated economic topic, but I feel it is well overdue. Because people are so used to being an employee and having somebody else provide a job for them it has perverted our way of looking at technology and growth. We look at things from a selfish, fearful position rather than a creative, exploratory position.

For instance, when we first heard about the industrial age and machines coming about everyone panicked. What, machines?!? These machines are going to replace my job! This is terrible! I am no longer going to have a job!

The Dumb Get Dumber and The Smart Get Smarter

A few months back I wrote a post about how technology scales a reality and I wanted to expand on that. With the advent of the information age it is becoming more and more clear that this is precisely what is happening with people and their Internet habits. You have two different splits.

A Large Problem With Most Internet / Tech Companies

A huge disconnect I find with most tech companies is that their technical side is on a different page than the leadership. In most cases the CEOs and leaders know nothing about technical things and tech guys know nothing about good leadership. This would be okay if the two were able to leverage each others strengths, but in most cases that's just not what happens.

Technology Scales The Reality

A lot of people get freaked out about technology and change. For instance, a lot of people are nervous about the push for globalization and a one-world government, myself included. But the thing is, it's not really the optimization or the efficiency of this that is the problem. A one-world government does make sense as there are a number of benefits. The problem comes from the forces and driving force behind it.

The iPhone Is The Best Phone Ever!

I usually don't post about tech stuff but ever since purchasing the iPhone I can not resist. Reasons why the iPhone is better than your phone:

You can sync email (Gmail baby!) on it super easy

I hooked up my Gmail account to it super easy and now I can check my email while walking to the restroom! You rule iPhone!

You can browse the Internet with a sweet Safari hybrid
